UP: Constable dies mysteriously in Ballia; body found in pond after overnight search
A stir has been caused by the death of Constable Paritosh Mishra—posted at the Bansdih Kotwali—under suspicious circumstances in Ballia. His body was discovered in a roadside pond near the Chhata railway crossing within the Bansdih Road police station limits. Surprisingly, his motorcycle was also recovered from the pond. Reports indicate that Paritosh had set out alone on his bike for night duty. When he failed to return after a considerable time, his colleagues began searching for him. After finding his mobile phone switched off, the search continued through the night, and his body was found in the pond on Monday morning.
Upon receiving news of the incident, SP Omvir Singh arrived at the scene and inspected the site. The police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination, and an investigation into the matter is underway.
