Uproar in Chandigarh—from the streets to the House—as AAP and Congress protest against waterlogging and a ₹227-crore agenda.

Heavy rainfall leading to waterlogging in Chandigarh has fueled a political controversy. Ahead of the Municipal Corporation’s General House meeting, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a massive protest against the BJP and the municipal administration. Led by AAP President Vijay Pal Singh, party workers and councilors took to the streets, raising slogans and demanding the resignation of Mayor Saurabh Joshi. During the protest, one leader sat on the road with a boat, while AAP workers engaged in a scuffle and heated arguments with the police when prevented from advancing; several leaders and workers were detained. Meanwhile, inside the Municipal Corporation meeting, AAP and Congress councilors created a massive ruckus over the issues of waterlogging and the ₹227-crore agenda.
