Uproar in Punjab over FIR against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi; Congress takes to the streets in Chandigarh against the BJP.

The Punjab Congress’s protest against the FIR registered against Rahul Gandhi intensified on Tuesday. During a demonstration organized by the party’s Scheduled Caste wing, Congress workers raised slogans against the central government and burned an effigy. The protesters were marching towards Lok Bhawan to meet the Governor but were stopped by police barricades. A scuffle ensued between the Congress workers and the police; the protesters attempted to break through the barricades, prompting the police to push them back.
