Water levels in several UP rivers have risen; is there a risk of floods similar to those in Nepal?

Following the deluge in Nepal, the risk of flooding has increased in several districts of Uttar Pradesh. While the water level of the Ganges has risen in Raebareli, the level of the Saryu in Ayodhya is 70 centimeters above the warning mark. Although the water level has receded in Varanasi, the Central Water Commission indicates that it could rise again in the coming days. Meanwhile, the administration is closely monitoring the water levels of the Gandak and Narayani rivers in Maharajganj and Kushinagar.
