Yogi government’s ‘bulldozer action’ in Sambhal: Temple land freed from encroachment

‘Baba’s bulldozer’ roared into action once again in Sambhal. The administration took major action against an alleged illegal structure built on the land of the Chamunda Devi temple in Sirsi town. A two-story building was razed to the ground in the presence of the SDM, Tehsildar, and police officials. The temple committee had long been complaining about the alleged illegal encroachment on the land. The administration carried out the anti-encroachment drive following an order from the Tehsildar’s court and the subsequent dismissal of an appeal in the District Magistrate’s court. The encroachment is alleged to be linked to an individual associated with a Congress leader, whereas the opposing party claims that the land’s sale deed was executed several decades ago.
