Mumbai Crime Branch aur revenue agencies ke liye ek badi safalta me, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) ne Zaveri Bazar area me chal raha ek clandestine gold melting unit bust kiya hai. Is operation ko naam diya gaya tha “Operation Gold Meltdown.”
DRI Mumbai Zonal Unit ne discreet surveillance ke baad is illegal melting facility ko trace kiya.
Operation ke dauran do logon ko intercept kiya gaya aur unke paas se lagbhag 5.8 kilogram gold baramad hua, jiski estimated value ₹9.22 crore hai.
Preliminary investigation me pata chala ki yeh gold Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) ke through India me smuggle kiya gaya tha.
Gold ko wax capsule concealment method ke zariye passengers ke through laya ja raha tha
Is case me ab tak do alleged key members ko arrest kiya gaya hai.
DRI ka kehna hai ki investigation abhi bhi jaari hai aur aur bhi logon ke shamil hone ka andesha hai.
