The opposition has planned a major demonstration to protest against alleged irregularities in the Election Commission’s ‘Special Intensive Revision’ (SIR) process—termed by them as ‘vote theft’—and to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. In this context, the ‘INDIA’ alliance is set to hold a mega-rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan, with preparations currently in full swing. Key opposition leaders, including Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, are overseeing the arrangements for this march and rally. Priyanka Gandhi visited Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on Thursday, accompanied by several other Congress leaders, to inspect the preparations. During the visit, Congress leaders spoke to the media regarding the mega-rally, alleging that the government is preventing people from reaching Delhi.
