10 Years of UPI: PM Modi Says “Every Indian Should Be Proud”

Launched on August 25, 2016, UPI has completed 10 years. Prime Minister Modi states that the scope and reach of UPI are such that every Indian should take pride in it. Indeed, UPI has become the easiest and most popular method for digital payments in India. In July 2026 alone, over 2,360 crore transactions were recorded on the platform. Even small-value payments have rapidly shifted to digital modes.
