ABVP Launches Protest in Ranchi; Students Take to the Streets Again Against Lathi-charge

Protests intensified once again today in Ranchi against the lathi-charge on students. ABVP activists staged a sit-in near the old Legislative Assembly building and marched towards the new Assembly complex to protest the police action against the students. During the demonstration, police attempted to stop the protesters using barricades, leading to scuffles and detentions. Reports and visuals also emerged showing some students fainting or sustaining injuries. The protesters have accused the police of using excessive force and mistreating female students.
