Anti-paper leak bill passed amidst Lok Sabha uproar; CJP leaders take a dig at the legislation

The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, has been passed in the Lok Sabha by a voice vote. Union Minister Jitendra Singh responded to the discussion on behalf of the government. Following the bill’s passage, a massive uproar ensued in the Lok Sabha, leading to the adjournment of the House proceedings until tomorrow; however, it is noteworthy that the anti-paper leak amendment bill was successfully passed amidst the commotion. The bill was cleared by a voice vote after an extensive discussion. Meanwhile, the CJP has raised objections to the anti-paper leak amendment bill; CJP founder Abhijit Deepke and spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka remarked that the government frequently introduces such bills.
