Bandra’s St. Peter’s Church ko ₹12.64 crore tax dispute par auction notice

Bandra ki historic St. Peter’s Church ko ₹12.64 crore ke property tax dispute ko lekar municipal auction notice mila hai. Church ka kehna hai ki jis plot ko lekar notice aaya hai, woh 2010 mein hi becha ja chuka hai.

Parish priest Father Luke Rodrigues ne bataya ki mamla unke lawyers ko de diya gaya hai. Church ka kehna hai ki property 2010 mein bechi ja chuki thi, lekin property card mein ownership update nahi hua, isliye tax abhi bhi church ke naam par dikh raha hai.

Parish Pastoral Council ke member Brian D’Souza ne kaha ki plot encroachment issues ki wajah se becha gaya tha. Filhaal jo current owner hai, woh encroachment ke khilaf legal case lad raha hai. Church ne saaf kiya hai ki unka is dispute se koi lena-dena nahi hai.
