BSP’s lone MLA Umashankar Singh passes away; tributes paid by everyone from Mayawati to Rajnath Singh and Akhilesh Yadav

Umashankar Singh, the Bahujan Samaj Party’s (BSP) sole MLA and a three-time legislator from Rasra (Ballia), has passed away following a prolonged illness. Many leaders, including BSP supremo Mayawati, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, expressed deep grief over his demise. Singh, who had secured the BSP’s only assembly seat in the 2022 elections, is considered a significant political and organizational loss for the party.
