Forced to wear hijab at school; Jabalpur High Court deals a major blow to the accused

The High Court has dealt a significant blow to the accused involved in the controversial hijab case at Ganga Jamuna Higher Secondary School in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh. The court dismissed the petition filed by four former office-bearers and staff members of the school seeking to quash the FIR… A single-judge bench led by Justice Himanshu Joshi stated that “specific allegations regarding female students being allegedly coerced through threats cannot be termed baseless, and their veracity will be determined based on evidence. The FIR contains specific allegations of threats and pressure exerted on students to adopt a particular attire and follow religious practices against their will; thus, the allegations leveled against the petitioners cannot be dismissed as baseless *prima facie*. The truth of the allegations will be established through evidence, and the police have already filed a charge sheet in this matter.” NDA leaders have also reacted to the case, endorsing the court’s decision and affirming that the ruling is correct.
