Intern doctors’ protest in Madhya Pradesh wins, stipend doubles by one and a half times, now receiving ₹21,500 monthly

Intern doctors in Madhya Pradesh, who have been protesting on the streets for three days demanding their salaries, have achieved victory. The Mohan Yadav government had to bow to the doctors’ protest. The government has increased the intern doctors’ stipend by 50%. Their monthly honorarium has now been increased from ₹14,337 to ₹21,500. Following this government decision, the three-day strike by intern doctors has ended. After the government accepted their demands, the intern doctors have called off their protest. Health services in the state are also slowly returning to normal, bringing relief to patients and their families.
