Tensions are rising in UP ahead of the elections. Speaking at an event in Rampur, Shivpal Yadav stated that Azam Khan should be made the Home Minister of UP in 2027. Reacting to this statement, the BJP alleged that the SP is engaging in the politics of appeasement to consolidate the Muslim vote bank. The BJP also asserted that the Yogi government would return to power.
