Gujarat: The path to pursuing higher education abroad has become easier for students from middle-class families in the state. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the state government has raised the annual family income limit for the foreign study loan scheme from ₹6 lakh to ₹10 lakh. Under this scheme, students from the unreserved category are provided study loans of up to ₹15 lakh for overseas education after completing Class 12. According to the Gujarat government, loan assistance amounting to ₹2,450 crore has been provided to 16,607 students since the scheme’s inception in 2018-19. With the increase in the income limit, more students will now be able to avail the benefits of this scheme and realize their dreams of pursuing higher education abroad.
