Traders in Delhi express growing concern over the Congress party’s mega-rally; the Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) has written to Sonia Gandhi—following similar letters to Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge—stating that “traders are fearful.”

Traders in Delhi are increasingly anxious about the Congress party’s mega-rally scheduled for November 1. The business organization, ‘Chamber of Trade and Industry’ (CTI), has addressed a letter to Sonia Gandhi, having previously written to Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge. Describing Sonia Gandhi as their “last hope,” the CTI has requested that the rally be postponed. The CTI warns that if 1 million (10 lakh) people and 15,000–20,000 vehicles descend upon central Delhi on November 1, the daily business turnover of 10,000–12,000 crore rupees across 20 historic markets will come to a complete standstill. Meanwhile, the Congress rally has also become a subject of ongoing political maneuvering.
