Urdu writer and senior journalist Farooq Syed (Brother of Imtiyaz Shaikh) passes away.

Farooq Syed, renowned Urdu journalist and popular writer for children, and owner & editor of the magazine Gul Bootay, passed away in Mumbai’s Bains Hospital on Tuesday after a prolonged illness.

He had gone for Umrah during the month of Ramadan last year. He fell ill there and had been unwell continuously since then. He breathed his last on Tuesday evening, 19 May. _Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un

His funeral will be held tomorrow, 20 May, after Zuhr prayers 1pm at Mumbai’s Narialwadi Qabristan.
