17 ‘Fake Doctors’—Some with Only 10th or 12th-Grade Education—Running Clinics; Arrested

In Rajkot, Gujarat, police have arrested 17 individuals—alleged ‘fake doctors’—who were treating patients without holding any valid medical degrees. Among those arrested, 14 have only completed the 10th or 12th grade, while three are graduates. According to the police, many of them previously worked as helpers in medical stores or clinics before eventually setting up and running their own clinics. During operations across several areas—including Shapar, Jetpur, Jasdan, and Patanvav—the police recovered various medicines and seized equipment and supplies worth approximately ₹3 lakh. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
