Arif Masood lashes out at PM Modi’s address; BJP retorts, “That is why you lose…”

On Independence Day (August 15), Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the nation’s freedom fighters during his speech at the Red Fort; however, Congress MLA from Bhopal, Arif Masood, raised questions over the failure to mention Muslim freedom fighters. Masood sent a memorandum to the Prime Minister, stating that the struggle for independence was not fought by any single community and that the omission of Muslim freedom fighters from the discourse on the freedom struggle is regrettable and shameful. He is planning to organize a major event in Bhopal soon to honor Muslim freedom fighters.
