The MCD is now demolishing ‘Dangerous Building No. 13,’ which stands right next to ‘Building No. 14’—the collapse of which claimed seven lives. The building had already been vacated and is now being demolished in a phased manner. The administration’s objective is clear: to completely eliminate the risk of a subsequent tragedy. It is worth noting that a paying guest (PG) accommodation for women was operating in Building No. 13. As a safety precaution, the residents were evacuated, and their belongings were removed beforehand.
