Major Uproar in Ujjain Over ‘Standing Hanuman’ Idol; Seers Issue Stern Warning
Seers in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, staged a massive protest on Wednesday regarding the ‘Standing Hanuman’ (Khade Hanuman) idol. Responding to their call, a large number of people from the Hindu community gathered; the streets surrounding the temple were packed with the crowd. Their unified demand was that the ‘Standing Hanuman’ idol be allowed to remain at its current location, alongside a call for the construction of a new temple. An agitation regarding the Hanuman temple has been ongoing for the past 15 days, and on Wednesday, it escalated significantly. A large gathering of seers and pro-Hindu organizations was witnessed near the temple, with thousands of activists and devotees assembling at the site. Furthermore, they submitted a memorandum outlining their demands to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM).
