Massive Fire at Jaipur’s Badi Chopar; Fire Tenders Battling the Blaze

A massive fire broke out on Thursday morning at the Katla Market in Jaipur’s Badi Chopar area. What started as a fire involving cartons placed outside a clothing showroom rapidly spread to engulf more than 20 shops. Clothing warehouses, as well as shops selling plastic goods and bangles, were also caught in the blaze. Flames and plumes of smoke were visible from a distance. Upon receiving the alert, police and multiple fire tenders rushed to the scene. Firefighters faced significant challenges in extinguishing the fire due to the narrow lanes and the presence of flammable materials inside the shops. Preliminary reports suggest a short circuit as the cause of the fire. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties, although goods worth lakhs of rupees have reportedly been reduced to ashes.
