In a joint operation conducted on September 25, 2026, the Indian Coast Guard and the Gujarat ATS seized 526 kg of high-grade drugs valued at approximately ₹3,000 crore in the Arabian Sea, west of Lakshadweep. Five Pakistani nationals were also arrested; a massive consignment of narcotics was being smuggled into India by sea, but security agencies successfully intercepted the attempt in time. According to reports, the Coast Guard spotted a suspicious boat, intercepted and searched it, and recovered the entire consignment. The seized narcotics reportedly include heroin and methamphetamine. The recovered drugs and the boat have been brought to Mumbai for further legal proceedings. Efforts are now underway to unravel the links of this entire smuggling network through the interrogation of the accused.
