Results for the UP MLC elections have been declared; Akhilesh Yadav calls the BJP a ‘flop show,’ while the BJP hits back, asserting that the ‘lotus’ will bloom for a third time in 2027.

The results of the UP MLC elections are out. The BJP has won 6 seats, and the Samajwadi Party (SP) has secured 5. Despite winning fewer seats than the BJP, Akhilesh Yadav remains high-spirited. He has labeled the BJP a ‘flop show,’ describing its ‘double-engine’ government as a ‘double zero.’ Meanwhile, BJP leaders have reacted sharply to his remarks. Brajesh Pathak, a close associate of Yogi Adityanath, stated that the SP is turning away from the truth; he emphasized that the BJP has retained its seats and will return to power in 2027 with an overwhelming majority for the third consecutive time.
