Roof of a building under construction collapses in Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra; three workers rescued, search for a fourth continues.

A major accident has occurred at a building under construction in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. In the Chikalthana area, the slab of a commercial building suddenly collapsed. Workers were present at the site when the incident took place, leaving them trapped under the debris, amidst scenes of panic and cries for help. According to initial reports, work was underway to lay the roof (slab) on the first floor of the building. Iron pipes had been installed to support the slab; however, under the weight of the roof, these pipes buckled, causing the entire slab to come crashing down. The incident has raised serious questions regarding safety arrangements at the construction site.
