Opposition targets NCERT over inclusion of 4 members linked to RSS-BJP in selection committee

A political controversy has erupted over the new Class 11 and 12 Political Science textbooks from NCERT. The opposition has raised questions after it was revealed that the new 20-member Textbook Development Committee includes at least four members with ties to the RSS, ABVP, BJP, and affiliated organizations. The opposition alleges that the BJP and RSS are attempting to strengthen their ideological grip on the education system. Meanwhile, the BJP has dismissed these allegations and hit back. Former NCERT Director J.S. Rajput states that an individual’s association with the RSS does not prove they are bound by a specific ideology.
